Balloon Juice adds to its roster

As I’ve linked and talked about plenty of times before, the passionate and wonderfully crabby site Balloon Juice is easily one of my favorite blogs around. Started by John Cole, it became a co-blog with Tim F. a while back, while a third member has just joined the ranks.

Michael D.’s main site is Gay Orbit, which contains a great post regarding both his politics and his sexuality that’s well worth the read. Quoting a bit:

As Log Cabin Republicans, we are not lemmings who just willy-nilly support Republican candidates. We support inclusive Republicans. We don’t support James Dobson. We don’t support Gary Bauer, Jerry Falwell, James Dobson, Rick Santorum, and others who would rather we disappear. We support working on the inside of the party to root out intolerance and to convince gay Americans to support Republicans who work for us – not just with respect to our sexual orientation, but for all the reasons listed in the statement above. I seriously doubt that a Republican who supported full marriage, employment, and immigration rights for gays would get the support of LCR if he or she also supported raising taxes, expanding government, invading privacy, etc. In fact, I absolutely know that candidate would not get the Log Cabin endorsement.

Contrary to what many believe, Log Cabin is not a one issue organization. It just happens to be a group of people with a common sexual orientation who got together to bring the Republican Party back to its roots. And that, my friends, is a good thing.

Amusingly, this also now means that Balloon Juice once again has a Republican blogging for it after an interregnum of a couple of days.

He said James Dobson twice. I guess that would make him doubly unsupportive lol.

Some people weigh on your mind more than others. 😉
